At the event, moderated by DECIDE partner Ludwig Karg (BAUM), Andreas Tuerk (Joanneum Research) was panellist, discussing practical insights related to local flexibility provisions by energy communities.

He emphasized that the discussions are often focused too much on providing flexibilities to markets, that in most EU member states are not mature enough. Instead, more attention should be paid to locally sharing of flexibilities, either within the community or with neighbouring districts.
