Regulation developments in Greece

On the 11th of June, DECIDE project partners HERON and DOMX organised a one-day regulatory workshop on new regulation developments in Greece for Energy Communities and Energy Efficiency Services for end consumers.

The main objectives of the workshop were to identify the opportunities and barriers set by latest regulation developments in the EU and Greece; to leverage the experience collected from participating Energy Communities and pilot communities implementing Energy Efficiency Services for End Consumers; and finally to identify possible practical solutions to overcome the barriers identified, explore opportunities leading to practical solutions.

The workshop was split in two main parts, in the first one both the energy communities and the energy efficiency/gas representatives participated in the presentations’ session for understanding the current framework (EU & National), while in the second part the two target groups were split in two parallel break-out rooms for the round table discussions.
 

The workshop had a good level of participation from different stakeholders, such as representatives from:

  • Greek Ministry of the Environment and Energy,
  • Regulatory Authority for Energy (RAE),
  • Centre for Renewable Energy Sources (CRES),
  • Energy Cooperatives/associations: Greenpeace, Genervest, Electra Energy,
  • Municipal Representatives: Municipality of Trikala,
  • Institute for European Energy and Climate Policy,
  • Optimus Energy (RES Aggregator)
